Went there unable to breathe and they sent me home 2 hours later unable to breathe still. Terrible hospital
The care at this facility is abysmal (I couldn't award zero stars -- I would have if possible). I, luckily, have not needed to be seen by a doctor often, but every time I have gone here I have either received a misdiagnosis or have been treated with a tremendous amount of disrespect. Family Medicine relies heavily on the use of "physician extenders" (physician assistants, nurse practitioners) who have little working knowledge and may often do harm. I received a misdiagnosis from a nurse practitioner -- she said my condition was nothing serious when it in fact was -- which directly led to a worsening of my condition. The specialty clinics schedule as many patients as they absolutely can, meaning that there is very little contact time between patient and medical professional. Combine this with the fact that the doctors with whom I have interacted show no interest in what the patient has to say about their own condition, and you are left with extremely poor care. Patients should be very wary.
My family and I switched to Fairview years ago and have not once regretted that decision. We live about five minutes from a different hospital and choose to make the hour round trip to Fairview Wyoming, sometimes daily! From small colds and minor things to pregnancy and even cancer, Fairview Lakes Medical Center slowly became our “home away from home”. The staff there is nothing short of amazing and the volunteers are just as wonderful. When my son was born he was in need of immediate medical assistance, as the cord was wrapped around his neck, and a care team rushed in the room faster than I could blink to help get, and keep, him breathing. The staff was very knowledgeable and informative and the nurses were very sweet during our extended stay. My dad is doing chemo here and although the circumstances aren’t particularly enjoyable, the staff has made the whole experience a bit easier on the whole family. They have a great sense of humor, but can also be so personable and empathetic at the perfect times. My family and I have spent a great amount of time here and have only great things to say about it!
Worst er been here multiple times with horrible expeirces, cut off a finger and they held me for 4 hours wondering what to do and then my dad said look do i gotta bring him to hcmc so they can deal with it &they said yeah because there surgen comes here once a week.then they prescribed me ibu n asprin when i cant because liver conditions.then a doctor said i cant be restricted to one pharmcey n physician when three other hospitals said i was restricted and they couldn't fill my prescriptions because wyoming had restricted me,there very rude and dont listen at all.also i have a terrible liver and a infection and i asked if the could check my labs(blood) and they refused. When i have a history of infections spreding quickly and closing my throat.they are incompitent and very disrespectful and pretend to know things they know nothing about like my restrictions they put on me
We had our baby here. Great Doctors and Nurses here. A very positive experience. Exceeded expectations. Would recommend to others.
